David August and Friends takes great songs from the American songbook, reconstructs them, and from those original tunes, creates new and exciting jazz compositions. You will fall in love all over again with songs that you have known for years! The career musicians in the group have plenty of room to stretch out and the vibe at their shows is always warm, intimate and beautiful.
REIMAGINING THE BEATLES on June 14th at 7:30pm has been in the works for the past 6 months by band leader David Kalman August. It is a set of Beatles songs rearranged for his ensemble consisting of electric bass, drums, electric guitar, keyboard, sax, cello, and vocals. These arrangements cross many genres including jazz waltz, funk, fusion, bossa nova, and rhythm and blues. This concert is a “must see” for any and all live music lovers. And who doesn’t love The Beatles!?
